New Look Tuesdays

Tuesday evenings will now become Yoga and Pilates night in Bowdon Vale with two new classes commencing at the Methodist Church on Priory Street. The space is welcoming and is heated, suitable for about 15 people. http://www.bowdonvale.altrincham-methodist.org.uk/

Pilates will be at 6pm with an hour’s Hatha Yoga following at 7.15pm. You can choose to come to both classes or just one. There is no need to book, just turn up! It’s £7 per class or £12 if you fancy staying for the second class.

Thursdays just got better too!

I’ll be adding an extra class on Thursday nights at Hazel Grove Recreation Centre, situated in the High School off Jacksons Lane. An early evening Hatha Yoga class will be taking place from February 7th – and again, you will have chance to do a double class if you like by staying for my Pilates class at 7.15pm. These sessions are £6 each. Hatha Yoga will be taught in my usual relaxed, adaptable style so don’t worry if you haven’t tried it before; yoga makes you feel wonderful. Be prepared to float home fully relaxed, stretched, stronger and happier!

Thursday night Hazel Grove Offer: we all know someone who would benefit from a holistic form of exercise that tones, increases bone density, adds suppleness and reduces injuries …so for the whole of February you are invited to bring a friend for free to either Yoga or Pilates on Thursday nights.

Yoga Weekend In The Lake District February 2013

The weekend

The weekend will consist of a meditation and yoga session each morning. There will be a choice of a gentle hatha class with Leonie or a more challenging Jivamukti (yoga flow) class with Tara. There will be an opportunity on Saturday afternoon to get out and explore the beautiful countryside on a lovely long walk, where we pass ancient stone monuments and an Andy Goldsworthy sculpture. There will be a much needed deep relaxation and light massage session after the walk. Throughout the weekend there will be plenty of homemade food to enjoy. Feel free to bring a bottle of wine, put your feet up and relax in the peaceful surroundings with good company.

Friday  

5pm Arrival and enjoy a selection of homemade cakes with tea or coffee.

8 pm Homemade Soup & introduction to the weekend.

Saturday 

7.30 am – 8 am Morning meditation

8 am – 10 am Yoga

10.30 am Breakfast – Toast, Cereal, Fresh Fruit Salad, Porridge, Selection of Herbal Teas

11 am – 2 pm Free time including buffet lunch of homemade soup and bread

2 pm – 4 pm Guided country side walk

6 pm Yoga Nidra Guided Relaxation

7.30 pm Dinner

Sunday

7.30 am – 8 am Morning Meditation

8 am – 10 am Yoga

10.30 am Breakfast

11.30 am – 12.30am Breathing and Pranayama techniques with an opportunity for Q and A

1 pm – 4 pm Free time including buffet lunch of homemade soup and snacks

4 pm Departures

 

The food will be wholesome, homemade and vegetarian. 

The Venue

 

Fawcett Mill Fields is perhaps one of the best-kept secrets in the Lake District. It is an absolutely astonishing place, the perfect venue for a yoga retreat. The Mill dates back to 1517 and has been patiently restored over many years to retain original features in stone and oak. It is set in 5 acres of woodland that boast a wildlife garden, herbaceous borders and a large lawn. To see for yourself please visit their website on www.fmf.freeservers.com.

The bedrooms at the Mill are bright, charming, comfy and clean – there are 3 double en-suites, 2 double rooms, 5 twin rooms and 1 triple (a twin and a double) The rooms will be allocated on a first come first served basis or on a request to share.

There is also a 4 person sauna for that post yoga sweat and a couple of sitting rooms with open log fires for rest and relaxation.

The Teachers

Tara and Leonie have been teaching yoga now for several years. Tara has been practicing yoga for nearly 12 years now. She uses various styles when teaching including Ashtanga and Jivamukti Yoga. Leonie has been practicing for 9 years. Combining her background in Pilates, she teaches yoga in a gentle hatha style with an emphasis on postural alignment and strengthening the back and core muscles.

Booking & Payment

Full price £195. A non-refundable deposit of £50 will be required by Friday 23rd  November to secure your place on the workshop, with the balance due by Friday 11th January 2013.

Early bird price £175 if booked and paid in full by Friday 14th  December2012.

For all the above classes you can just turn up and pay on the night. If you have a mat please bring it along, although we have spares at each venue. Please mention any injuries or physical conditions that might affect your exercise to the instructor before the session commences.
